Join textiles artist Jess Way for a relaxed session exploring two of the most popular quilt patterns- Log Cabin and Chequerboard. Whether you're brand new to sewing or looking to expand your patchwork skills, this workshop is a perfect introduction world of patchwork/ quilting.

We’ll be using sewing machines to create fabric blocks in both techniques, experimenting with colour, contrast and composition. You'll learn the construction of each pattern, how to plan your layout, and how to sew your blocks together with precision.

This is a hands-on, practical workshop, and all fabrics and tools will be provided. However, if you have a stash of favourite fabrics you'd like to include in your design, feel free to bring them along! If you’d prefer to use your own sewing machine, you're very welcome to do so- please mention this in the booking section.

It will be an intimate group, so your tutor Jess Way will be able to offer plenty of one-to-one guidance throughout the session. Jess is a textile artist who uses quilting techniques in her own creative practice @icaway_design

No quilting experience needed- beginners are welcome! Come along for a few of hours of creative stitching, learn something new, and take home your own patchwork samples.

This is part of a quilt series, join Jess on the 8th of February ‘Quilting Sampler’ workshop, where you can learn all the techniques needed to create your own quilt!

The event will take place at SILT, Unit 6 St Georges Works, Silver Street, Trowbridge, UK.
