Saturday 5th + Sunday 6th April
Come join us for a creative weekend at SILT. Learn the art of anthotype printing, making emulsions from scratch and coating your own papers before exposing prints in this hands on workshop. We'll make flat colour and gradient papers using different emulsions and substrates.
Coat your own cyanotype papers with iron salts and expose them during the workshop, resulting in beautiful blue prints.
There'll also be chances to make lumen prints and experiment with cyanotype toning.
Discover the magic of using sunlight to create unique prints on paper and learn about eco photography as we explore these processes.
At the end of the weekend you will have a portfolio of work to take home, both fixed and fugitive prints. You will also have made a pack of papers to take home and carry on experimenting!
No experience necessary - bring your curiosity and we'll provide the rest: Come and explore the wonderful world of sun printing!
This is a small group course - limited places.
The structure of both days:
10.00 - 12.30: Morning session
12.30 - 13.30: Lunch (there are various cafes very near the studio, or you can bring a pack lunch)
13.30-15.30: Afternoon session
Tea, coffee, snacks and fruit provided throughout the day.

- By Train: Trowbridge Train Station is a short 10-minute walk from St George’s Works, with regular services from Bath, Bristol, and beyond.
- By Bus: Several local bus routes stop nearby on Silver Street or in the town centre, just a few minutes’ walk away.
- By Car: Parking is available at nearby public car parks, including St Stephen’s Place and Court Street.
