Colour and Light Free Eco Art Youth Workshops

In Summer 2025 we have been delivering bespoke free workshops for young people in Trowbridge in partnership with Trowbridge Future Youth. Made possible with Area Board funding from Trowbridge Council.

As part of this series, there will be demonstrations continuing in Autumn of image making processes followed by hands-on activities exploring eco-photography, collage, hand made coloured inks from plants, mark making and more.  A great way to try out lots of different media - no previous experience needed.

These workshops are an introduction to the free Open Access Studio Sessions on Saturday mornings that we'll be running for young artists, Nov 25 - Nov 26 funded by the Arts Council. This will also include publishing and exhibiting opportunities. The workshops are a great way to see what young artists can do in studio.

Young artists in the Trowbridge area aged 11 - 16yrs are invited to join our next free art sessions at SILT on 4th Oct 10 - 1200hrs please sign up using this link or email us at hello@silt.work for more info.

Colour & Light

We have been awarded an Arts Council England grant to deliver our Colour & Light: Open Access Eco Art Youth Programme for 11-16 year olds in the Trowbridge area.

We are holding a year-long series of free studio sessions at SILT, providing access to extra curricular art education and creative facilities at the SILT space. Participants will have a safe, free, consistent place for making art where they are supported to carry out research and activity towards their own projects. We’ll be providing learning opportunities for techniques and for contextual studies to help situate their research interests.
