Darkroom Studio Memberships:
Membership Hours:
Option 1: Wednesdays 10.00 - 14.00 during term time. This is approx 16 hours of darkroom use per month.
OR Option 2: Wednesdays 18.00 - 22.00 during term time. This is approx 16 hours of darkroom use per month.
Membership Cost: = £60 per month
Membership is for use of SILT’s eco darkroom with technical support.
Develop films, make prints; make work with darkroom processes.
Experiment with mixing your own DIY chemistry and darkroom recipes.
Members are welcome to use the darkroom within their weekly time slot. This is not a guided session but time for your own work and experiments, and Anna will be on-hand to assist intermittently if you need help.
Equipment provided: Enlargers, masking frames, red lights, trays, film developing tanks, measuring cylinders, contact printers, masking tape, scissors, some focusing tools and filters, large darkroom sink, print drying area. Bring your own paper and film.
Some chemistry will be provided but you should be prepared to eventually make/bring your own: Anna will help new members at the start of their membership and recipe suggestions will be provided eg Caffenol, Sage-ol, Nettle-ol.
ONLY homemade eco developers to be used, homemade eco fixers or ecozone-fix. No stop bath (just water), no commercial developer.
* During school holiday times darkroom access is by appointment rather than the regular Wednesdays.
* Monthly payment by direct debit preferred. Membership should be paid on the same date each month.
* 1 month notice to cancel.
* Membership price is deliberately low with the aim of being accessible. Members can come as little or as often as they want within the timeframe.

Our studio is easily accessible by various transport options:
- By Train: Trowbridge Train Station is a short 10-minute walk from St George’s Works, with regular services from Bath, Bristol, and beyond.
- By Bus: Several local bus routes stop nearby on Silver Street or in the town centre, just a few minutes’ walk away.
- By Car: Parking is available at nearby public car parks, including St Stephen’s Place and Court Street.

Refund Policy
Full refunds are available for cancellations made at least 14 days before the start date. After this, we offer partial refunds or credit. No refunds are given for cancellations within 48 hours.
If we need to cancel, you’ll receive a full refund or the option to reschedule.
